Spiderlegs is still #1 on the Australian Digital Music Charts

That's 8 of the past 9 weeks Spiderlegs has been #1.





Also, jumped 21 slots on the more competitive Indie Chart from #40 to #19. And into the top 100 (#78) in the generic and all encompassing "Alternative" charts.

4 songs are in the top 20, with 3 in the top 10 (Eschewing Mettle #2, If you loved me you would change #4, and A Peaceful End #8 ) on the Shoegazer song chart.

In the "Mod" songs chart, Spiderlegs has 2 songs in the top 10: Bleeding #2, and Just Let Me Know... #8.

Back to #1 again...

SPIDERLEGS has regained the #1 artist position in the category of shoegazer on the Australian Digital Music Charts.

If the term "shoegazer" confuses you, it was a type of post-punk, wall of sound, psychedelic style of music pioneered by the Velvet Underground in the early '70s, then championed most notably by the likes of such groups as early Jesus & Mary Chain, early Cocteau Twins, mid-80s Cure, My Bloody Valentine, Swervedriver, Ride, Lush, Chapterhouse, Curve, and Slowdive.

They were dubbed "Shoegazer" because it was common for band members to stare at the floor while playing their instruments live--whether it was due to shyness or disdain of their audience remains a mystery...
