Promo crud for Spiderlegs, the musical entity

Messing around with some Photoshop stuff. On the image that looks like a shopping center are 'easter eggs' for people who happen to have been fans of the music for a while. Here are the promo images, all dark and weird, just like I like them...

Feedback is welcome if anyone cares to offer any...

First is the album art for the new CD which I'm hoping will come out sometime before the end of the year--but I doubt it. My realistic goal is by February or early March, as I've been bogging down writing lyrics and vocal melodies. I actually did have a breakthrough recently which is why I can now be optimistic about it coming out sooner rather than later. I haven't been able to say that for a couple of years (more than I am happy to admit).

The front cover art

Depending on how many panels I use on the CD (which will probably be just a single piece front and back), the image below will either be the backside of the front cover piece, or maybe the back of the jewel box. It will contain album info along the blank wall opposite the wall with the graffitti:

And here are the promo teasers I might put on Facebook, MySpace, etc. to promote the new release (they will include more text info with urls, etc)

The one below is my personal favorite with the 'easter eggs' I mentioned...

The next two images are ones I am not using to promote with at all. I don't own them and didn't create them. Rather, I modified them for my own purposes just to flex the creative muscle and maybe spark some other ideas. The first is an old movie poster using a monster similar to the Spiderlegs icon (which admittedly looks like a biological version inspired by a robot from the old Johnny  Quest cartoon). I doctored up the eyeball--gave it depth and changed the whole actual eye itself. I just thought it looked cool. But you'll never see it anywhere but on here or in my private photos on FB.

Next was an actual billboard for a company that went out of business, so I'd love to do something like it, but it's totally cost prohibitive. Still, how cool would it be to see this on your drive home from work each day, heh...

The next image is old. It comes from the tee shirt made in 2003 that were given to fan club members and people who donated to a benefit we put on that same year. The second image I did yesterday as a sort of offshoot. Doubt I'll ever use it, but I might. The spider image on the tee is the tattoo I have on my shoulder, drawn by my very good friend who moved away to Portland, Aaron Pendland, who is a hugely talented artist and does great animations (check the link). On the sign is one of the first ever Spiderlegs logos, dug up for a reprise.

And this is a new logo based off the tattoo graphic that I stuck up on Facebook. An isometric version with dimensional depth and texture that resembles actual bug legs, a little.

And this is what you get when you experiment too long using a ton of images all on different layers using the layer blending options (my favorite aspect of Photoshop)

By the way, I've previously released preliminary versions of some of the songs from the upcoming release that can be downloaded for free (or streamed for free-- I forget). They are further along than demos, but aren't the same versions which will wind up on the official release. But they are a fair indication of what the rest of the CD will sound like. Oh, except for the fact that there are 3 unreleased tracks that feature the piano as the dominant instrument--without being crybaby pop ballads piano songs tend to be nowadays. I'm pretty proud of them, actually. One of them even has kind of a 1920s Rag piano sound in it, which was fun to write and then learn how to play. Most of the other Spiderlegs tracks from the 2000 release and on are there for free download, too. Enjoy!
